I worked in the medical field for over 30 years and really did enjoy my job, but, as healthcare evolved, the demands of my time just flat wore me out. So, I quit. Now what was I going to do? I know, write a book! What do I know about writing a book? Diddly squat was the answer. I decided to start small and published a blog. I have been told that I’m a good storyteller. You decide once you finish the book. I find my stories help others understand they’re not alone in their private thoughts. Other people feel the same as you do; they just don’t say it out loud. I share with you stories from my past that made me laugh. I give you observations and questions about our daily lives for which I have no good answer. I never claim to have those.I often observe people trudging through their days with a complete look of despair, seemingly unable to smile. When did laughing become so out of vogue? This book is designed to break that cycle of drudgery of the daily grind. When I told my friends and family that I was going to write a book, most of them gasped at the potential horror of being mentioned. Their first question was always, “Are you going to use my real name? Please don’t write about...”Um, was anyone going to offer encouragement or good luck? So, I am using real names and “writing about...”As I sat at my computer spilling stories, I decided to give you variety—with the exception of them all taking place in the South. I consider this a “bathroom book.” You can knock out at least one story at every sitting. ( Pun intended)Here you will find childhood stories from my perspective. Spoiler alert: Adults confused me. For some reason they were troubled when I stole candy and nearly set my bed on fire.At times I’ll challenge your current beliefs and norms, but with a sprinkle of humor and compassion: How do you define respect? Why is beer better than men? How do you form your opinions? Why did you eat a box of Little Debbie snack cakes? Are you even sure of your answers? (Now you’re going to find out why that last one triggers me!) Read Description
